California Dreaming

It's been awhile since I blogged. I'm slowly getting used to it and trying to make time to update at least once a week. But as some of my Twitter followers know, I was in California to make some business happen for Perrelet.

Business continues to improve slowly across the country and the west coast is no exception. The stores report increased traffic and increased sales but certainly not at the levels we have seen over the past years.
Monday I was in San Francisco with one of our authorized dealers SHAPUR. He has a great store on Post St. in the heart of downtown. He sells Perrelet and he is doing well with our timepieces.
Then I went to Carmel-by-the-sea to see our new client, LUSSORI. They have a great store in Carmel which is very busy now as visitors go for the cool weather from all over America. They are one of the best watch retailers in the USA and have already begun to sell Perrelet.
They have sold some watches already and they haven taken many orders for the turbine watch available around October..
On to Los Angeles where we visited with some existing clients in Westwood and Beverly Hills. They are very excited to receive the first shipments of the turbine watches and have many clients who are pilots, both commercial and amateur who want to own the turbine based on the design.
Finally went to Vancouver, British Columbia to visit our new agent, Time & Gold. They have had an incredible start with Perrelet and have sold both men's and ladies watches. The owner is Swiss so he has a particular love for Swiss Timepieces. The 2010 winter Olympics are in Vancouver and we are trying to find a way for me to go there during those two weeks to do a group of trunk shows. You can imagine the possibilities at that time. As always, love your support for Perrelet.

Perrelet in Fashion

Perrelet is well known among watch enthusiasts, however with PR and an agency, I'm please to see that Perrelet is penetrating the "fashion" scene. This will always be a watch enthusiast's "watch", however its nice to see that the fashion world is taking notice of the designs of the watch.

In a recent photoshoot with What's Wear, the editor used our Turbine watch as a luxury gift for Father's Day. We're included with some other fashionable and respected watch brands. To see the article you can visit it by clicking here. Please note we're on Page 3 :)

Real Life Turbine Shots

Apparently, people want to see the Perrelet Turbine Watch on a wrist. TimeZone.com was even flooded with replies of Turbine admirers who wanted to see a "non professional" shot of the watch. Well, Ariel from ABlogtoRead was kindly enough to post photos of the Turbine watch on his wrist.

To see the Turbine photos on a wrist, you can view them below (or visit Ariel's blog):

As I mentioned in my previous post, one of my highlights was having the opportunity to meet Ariel. He was very knowledgeable and asked me questions no other journalist asked me. I could tell he is a true watch enthusiast and blog for the love of the timepiece. I'm glad he is on our side to help promote Perrelet to other consumers.

I know I've been blogging less because I've been busy, but I love tweeting with you. Feel free to comment or follow me on twitter.

Swiss Watch Show By JCK Vegas

It seems like it was just yesterday when I was in Switzerland during the Baselworld Trade Show with some of Perrelet's new timepieces. The feedback was positive and I met with a few potential retailers in North America, so very exciting prospects and news regarding US distribution. As stated, the TURBINE timepiece, available October 2009, is very popular and several blogs and forums have syndicated the video and content.

With Basel behind us, now I am preparing for the JCK Las Vegas Show! So I'll be very busy in the next few weeks and hopefully Perrelet will have a positive influence on this show as well. You can expect me to Tweet about this and blog live from Vegas, too.

I hope to meet more bloggers, media and retailers at JCK!

Hello fellow watch enthusiasts, I just wanted to share with everyone a video of the Perrelet TURBINE watch that demonstrates how it works and the mechanics of it.

Feel free to pass around and ask your local jewelry retailers about the Perrelet TURBINE collection, available around October 2009.

Basel Recap

I am back in the states and rested after a short break following the BaselWorld Jewelry and Watch Trade Show. I'm actually re-packing and heading to NYC to meet with my PR Agency so they can explain to me more about social media. I think this will be a great trip and I've received several tweets commending Perrelet for breaking down the barriers between consumer and luxury brand.

Anyways, Basel was better than I thought it would be this year. It was very encouraging to see retailers support the luxury industry. I can't complain since Perrelet's new collection that were previewed at Basel were extremely popular. Several retailers and guests raved about the TURBINE collection.
For the TURBINE collection, Perrelet combines the world of aviation, with its technical fascination and wealth of adventurous heroes, that has always been a source of passion prompting the dreams of mankind, with its signature craftsmanship of watch making. You can see a preview shot from the collection below:

In addition to receiving positive comments regarding the TURBINE, I met with amazing editors and online writers. Some of them include meetings with Revolution Magazine, Professional Watches, Europa Star Magazine, WatchUSeek, WatchLuxus, Watch Journal and many more. All the editors seem to enjoy the collection as well and look forward to when it debuts around October 2009.

So overall, my experience at Basel was good. The turnout was better than expected and traffic in my hall was slow for several hours. But there were times when traffic picked up, and it was especially encouraging when I heard all the positive comments about Perrelet. Virginie seem to have a good time. Though she was invited for the "Passion For Watches" Luncheon, she was unable to make it. I wish either one of us could have attended but things happen. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet RJ who heads that group.

If you have any questions regarding the TURBINE collection, or our new pieces that will be available for distribution later this year (est. October 2009), please feel free to contact me at info@perreletusa.com.
