JCK Vegas is so close
The JCK Las Vegas Show is almost here. Four weeks away and I have alot of work I have to do in order to get Perrelet's name out there. My PR Agency is doing great job at promoting Perrelet, and we've been mentioned and featured in several watch related forums and blogs.
I'm really satisfied right now because Perrelet is breaking these barriers down between consumer and brand, and the response has been amazing. I hope Perrelet continues to lead the way in communicating with its consumers, the same way it invented the first automatic watch.
Hope to see everyone at JCK. Tweet @WatchPerrelet if you'll be there.

Swiss Watch Show By JCK Vegas
It seems like it was just yesterday when I was in Switzerland during the Baselworld Trade Show with some of Perrelet's new timepieces. The feedback was positive and I met with a few potential retailers in North America, so very exciting prospects and news regarding US distribution. As stated, the TURBINE timepiece, available October 2009, is very popular and several blogs and forums have syndicated the video and content.
With Basel behind us, now I am preparing for the JCK Las Vegas Show! So I'll be very busy in the next few weeks and hopefully Perrelet will have a positive influence on this show as well. You can expect me to Tweet about this and blog live from Vegas, too.
I hope to meet more bloggers, media and retailers at JCK!

TURBINE VIDEO
Hello fellow watch enthusiasts, I just wanted to share with everyone a video of the Perrelet TURBINE watch that demonstrates how it works and the mechanics of it.
Feel free to pass around and ask your local jewelry retailers about the Perrelet TURBINE collection, available around October 2009.

Me Twittering and Blogging
It's really flattering that I'm being recoginzed for blogging and twittering on behalf of Perrelet. Hodinkee did a post about me breaking the barriers between consumer and a luxury brand. I'm very pleased.
Here is a snippet from Ben's article:
"Last week, we briefly mentioned that the Managing Director of Perrelet North America had launched his own personal blog (available here). We were shocked and delighted to see a watch industry executive taking the initiative to do this. He was (and is), in effect, dropping the barrier between industry leader and the consumer. "

Basel Recap
I am back in the states and rested after a short break following the BaselWorld Jewelry and Watch Trade Show. I'm actually re-packing and heading to NYC to meet with my PR Agency so they can explain to me more about social media. I think this will be a great trip and I've received several tweets commending Perrelet for breaking down the barriers between consumer and luxury brand.
Anyways, Basel was better than I thought it would be this year. It was very encouraging to see retailers support the luxury industry. I can't complain since Perrelet's new collection that were previewed at Basel were extremely popular. Several retailers and guests raved about the TURBINE collection. For the TURBINE collection, Perrelet combines the world of aviation, with its technical fascination and wealth of adventurous heroes, that has always been a source of passion prompting the dreams of mankind, with its signature craftsmanship of watch making. You can see a preview shot from the collection below:
Movement: Automatic P-181,Open-worked, black Perrelet rotor
Power reserve: 42 hours
Frequency: 28,800 (4Hz)
Rubies: 21
Case:&hibar; 44mm
Case material: Titanium, Anti-glare sapphire crystal (front & back)
Water-resistance: 5 ATM
Dial: Black, with black luminous numerals and indexes, Titanium turbine, Red luminous stripes on under dial
Bracelet: Natural black rubber, DLC-treated folding titanium clasp
In addition to receiving positive comments regarding the TURBINE, I met with amazing editors and online writers. Some of them include meetings with Revolution Magazine, Professional Watches, Europa Star Magazine, WatchUSeek, WatchLuxus, Watch Journal and many more. All the editors seem to enjoy the collection as well and look forward to when it debuts around October 2009.
So overall, my experience at Basel was good. The turnout was better than expected and traffic in my hall was slow for several hours. But there were times when traffic picked up, and it was especially encouraging when I heard all the positive comments about Perrelet. Virginie seem to have a good time. Though she was invited for the "Passion For Watches" Luncheon, she was unable to make it. I wish either one of us could have attended but things happen. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet RJ who heads that group.
If you have any questions regarding the TURBINE collection, or our new pieces that will be available for distribution later this year (est. October 2009), please feel free to contact me at info@perreletusa.com.
